Spa-Style Bathrooms in Mallorca
A spa bathroom is a master bathroom designed as a place to stay in rather than pass through: a bath set where the view or the light is, a walk-in shower large enough for a bench and a rainfall head, warm stone or plaster underfoot and on the walls, and light that can be turned down. In a villa with a terrace and a view, it is the room the house was waiting for. Describe the room and we pass the request to bathroom renovation companies near you.

What makes a bathroom a spa bathroom
- Space: enough of it that the bath and the shower are separate places, not neighbours
- The bath: freestanding, positioned for the window, the view or the light, on a floor that can carry it full
- The shower: walk-in or a wet room, a rainfall head and a hand-held, a bench, a niche, room for two
- Surfaces: warm stone, microcement or plaster; wood where it stays dry; nothing shiny
- Heat: underfloor heating and a heated rail, so the room is warm before the water is
- Light: daylight through a window or a skylight; warm, dimmable light for the evening; a light in the shower
- Sound and air: a room that is quiet, and ventilation that clears steam without being heard
- Storage: enough that nothing has to be on show
- A door that closes, and ideally a view of something green or blue
What it asks of the house
Space, first – a spa bathroom is a room, not a fitting, and it often takes a bedroom or a dressing room with it. Then structure: a freestanding bath full of water and a person is heavy, and a stone floor under it heavier, so the floor is checked before the bath is chosen. Then water: a rainfall head and a bath want a supply that can keep up, and a water heater sized for a bath that is used. And then the mechanical things that make the room quiet – underfloor heating, ventilation, dimmable light – which all go in at first fix.
It is a room that is designed, drawn and then priced, in that order.

How your request reaches a company

They quote you
Each company contacts you directly with its own price, timing and approach. We do not set any of it.

Does a spa bathroom need a bath?
It needs a place to stay in, and for most people that is a bath. A large walk-in shower with a bench, warm stone and low light is a spa bathroom for somebody who never bathes – and it takes less floor and less water.
Can it be done in an apartment?
A smaller version can: the warm materials, the rain shower with a bench, the dimmable light, the quiet. The freestanding bath and the view are what an apartment usually cannot give, and the style works without them.
What about the water?
A bath and a rainfall head use it, and a house with a small water heater or low pressure will notice. It is a question for the survey, and the companies will raise it.
